Tomato Gravy

1 1/2 cups tomato juice
Pinch of baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
1 1/2 cups milk
3 tablespoons cornstarch

Boil tomato juice. Add baking soda, salt and sugar. Mix cornstarch and milk together, and pour into tomato mixture. Bring to a boil. Serve on scrambled eggs or fried mush.

Serves 8.
