2 eggs 1 cup orange juice 1 tablespoon granulated sugar 1/4 teaspoon salt 12 slices French bread 6 tablespoons butter or margarine
In advance, beat eggs in a shallow bowl with orange juice, sugar and salt. Dip bread into mixture, coating both sides. Place on baking sheet and freeze just until firm.
Remove bread from freezer, wrap well and return to freezer, until you wish to serve it.
Before serving, place bread slices in well-buttered shallow baking pan. Preheat oven to 500 degrees F. Melt butter and drizzle over bread. Bake for 5 minutes. Turn and bake until golden, about 5 minutes more.
Makes 6 servings.
